Actor Ozor Akubueze
Ozor Akubueze was a veteran in the Nigerian movie industry and died on
Friday, July 10, 2015, in Lagos, after a long battle with Pancreas
disease. It has been learnt that Akubueze, who featured in several
Nollywood movies shot in Enugu, last year underwent surgery, with the
bills covered by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
Actor Muna Obiekwe
Nollywood actor Muna Obiekwe was one of the most versatile and talented actors in the movie industry before the passed away on January 18, 2015, in Lagos. Muna was reported to have died from a kidney disease that was not properly taken care of due to lack of funds. He survived by his wife and children.
Actor Mufutai Sanni (Ajigijaga)
Nollywood actor, Mufutau Sanni, popularly known as Ajigijaga died Friday, July 31, 2015, at his residence in Agege, Lagos following injuries he sustained from an accident he was involved in previous weeks back. The movie thespian Ajigijaga died at the age of 60.
Actor Peter Bunor
Peter Bunor was also one of Nigeria greatest actors of all time, who passed away on May 2, 2015 after battling with stroke for several years. Before he died, Peter had complained for years, accusing his colleagues for abandoning him after he fell ill.
Saying: “Since this thing happened there has been no single actor that called me to ask about my condition. It is a shame on their part. Would they say they don’t know that I am sick? ‘I had a stroke and that was the end of it” He told Vanguard in 2013.
He was laid to rest in the company of family, friends and colleagues in the movie industry on May 30, 2015.
Actor Fashola Funsho Ogunremi
Barely five weeks after the death of veteran Yoruba actor Ajigijaga, actor Fashola Funsho Ogunremi joined him on September 10, 2015. Popularly known as Skede was well known for playing the role of a police officer thus the stage name Inspector Skede.
Skede was said to have been battling with two deadly diseases, congestive cardiac failure and diabetics both ailment were said to have left a big hole in his pocket. The ailments which later claimed his life was said to have manifested in him since 2011 and he was alleged to have resulted to self-medication when he could not afford hospital bills.
Before his death, attempts were made his colleagues in Yoruba movie genre of Nollywood to raise N2.5m for him to get appropriate medical care. Inspector Skede was said to have given up the ghost in the wee hours of today at his house, 4, Wey Street, Mushin, Lagos.
